Surveillance

See a small scene from Surveillance here

"Surveillance" looks at the nature and role of studying what has been captured in surveillance footage.   Touching on a range of subjects through a series of seemingly unrelated studies.

Surveillance = Validity.   If it is seen it is.

The study of temporal concepts and variables through capturing (camera) and portrayal/representaion (playback) for examination.

We present for study a social process using video to capture samples of life.   Surveillance is the ability to forever playback an action, out of time and place, of an unaware subject.

All art is surveillance.   Concerns of action, structure, virtuality, identity, boundaries of the self, being and becoming all impose themselves in surveillance video.

Under surveillance in a typical New York apartment building for analysis are:

Ira Schneider
Rob Rodrigues
Lisa Mcgill
Max Johnson
Dave Hebb
Glenn Johnson
Truly Johnson
Anne-Rene Petrarca
Anthony Matt
David Lawton
